AWA teamed with Phosphorus to create an interactive installation called “Biography Collective” for the Lumen Festival at Staten Island. The event was held at Lyons Pool, a NYC Department of Parks and Recreation site on Staten Island New York. The Installation was 30’ x 30’ in size and four overhead projectors were used which allowed the visitors to become the artist and create a collaborative canvas of light and projection that changed and developed through the night. The art was created through water-soluble paint in bowls of water located on the overhead projectors. The audience could create their own patterns on the fabric provided, even as they entered at one point and exited through another area, immersed in colors and patterns they did not create. This experience held a metaphoric connect to our amazing journey through life.
