This Year Marks Abhay Wadhwa’s 10th Year as Adjunct Assistant Professor at the LRC

Abhay Wadhwa has served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor for 10 years at the Lighting Research Center at RPI. Abhay teaches a Graduate studio that ranges from 8 to 12 students from diverse educational backgrounds; architecture, physics, engineering, and students from the masters lighting program. The class focuses on lighting applications, and is structured so that the students engage in debate, research, readings, and complete two studio projects.

The Studio allows students to explore paradigms and exposes them to an emerging new world order in architecture and lighting. Abhay’s teaching career allows him to give back in a way that engages students and exposes them to how a real design studio operates. The connection to academia also keeps AWA looking forward and helps integrate the philosophy and poetry that we infuse within every project. Giving back allows AWA to share the knowledge and experience that we have built up through our many years of experience in the world of lighting design.
